Naples OVER VIEW

Let Chris explain where Naples is in the South West Florida metropolitan area. As you start on the Interstate at the Bonita Springs exit 116, Bonita Beach Road, you are entering Collier County and Naples. Just a mile south of Bonita Beach Road is the North boundary of Naples. When you reach exit 111, Immokolee Road, this is the Northern most exit for Naples.

Naples, the paradise city, is the county seat and commercial center of Collier County, Florida. (the two counties making up South West Florida metropolitan area are Lee on the North and Collier on the South). Naples was founded during the late 1880s by former Confederate general and U.S. Senator John Stuart Williams and his partner, Louisville businessman Walter N. Haldeman, the publisher of the Louisville Courier-Journal.

Throughout the late 1800's, magazine and newspaper stories telling of the area's mild climate and abundant fish and game likened it to the sunny Italian peninsula. The name Naples caught on when promoters described the bay as surpassing the bay in Naples, Italy.

Naples was a small sleepy town until the 1990's. Then an enormous spurt of growth began. The whole western side of Collier County became known as Naples, and the US Post office helped by including this vast area under the mailing address of Naples. So a small town of Naples with its own government, and a larger Western Collier County Naples governed by the County Commission became friendly siblings.

Naples offers incredible small venue shopping, world class dining, about 100 golf courses, many parks of all types, and white sand beaches. It is well known for its luxurious estates and condominiums. The area across Western Collier county known as Naples, and the small town of Naples, are predominantly gated communities to protect your home investment.

Naples is also home to one of the largest legal subdisions in America. The

Golden Gate area closely regulated by the County, has an abundance of parcels completely unattached to any gated communities. These are vacant and improved with detached homes for sale. The parcels are all large, over an acre, and are on the area of Naples East of Collier Blvd.
