Let Chris explain where Lehigh Acres is in the South West Florida metropolitan area. As you start at the Interstate just South of the Caloosahatchee (pronounced "ka-LOOSE-a-HAT-chee" River bridge (Pineland Road exit), Moving East  is Lehigh Acres, then Collier County.

Lehigh Acres, the affordable City, is located in Lee County south of La Belle between Fort Myers and Immokalee near the Caloosahatchee River.

If you are looking for a neighborhood like in the old days. Lehigh prides itself on traditional family values and small hometown spirit. However, you can still have all of the conveniences of big city Fort Myers next door.

Lehigh Acres got its start in the mid 1950s as a small 18,000 acre cattle ranch named the Lucky Lee Ranch. Land in eastern Lee county was plentful, and it expanded considerably, eventually being developed as a city area with 150,000 building lots.

This abundance of land pemits lots to be sold at prices lower than in neighboring Fort Myers, leading to this area gaining the reputation as an affordable place to live.
